In February of 2026 we had a devestating fire in our studio. The upstairs studio was totally destroyed and the the downstairs sustained heavy smoke and water damage.
We had no place to work and spend most of the winter and early spring talking to contractors and exploring affordable solutions

We finally got started work in April with a prefab unit installed on a slab by the company. Then we spent the rest of the spring and summer building a floor, insulating, putting up sheetrock, painting and doing finish trim.  We built our original studio ourselves but it was a long time ago and we had not thought to do it again so it was quite an experience.

We owe a huge thank you to our friends and neighbors who were always willing to help out when we needed a hand and especially to our friends who helped with the sheetrock, spackle and painting-and putting down the floor.

We also had fast financial aid from CERF which gave us funds to start making deposits and get going and ACT insurance for artists and craftsmen who were so patient and supportive in helping us to get all the info they needed to process the insurance claim .

Now everything has worked out. We love our new studio and have enjoyed getting back to creating our artwork.
