For over 25 years Allen and
Pat Littlefield have been engaged in a joint endeavor
of creating their artwork and living space. They
built their house and studio by themselves (with a little
help from their friends) and are still constantly involved
in improving and expanding both in the same way they
have their ceramic sculpture and paper constructions.
In their "spare time" they have landscaped
their property, built stone walls, paths in the woods
and occasional gardens.
Each piece of artwork is individually created and
no two pieces are identical even if they are part of
a series. "Sometimes when we start to make a piece
we realize we have forgotten how we used to do it and
start over again with fresh ideas." The results
are always intriguing, but never expect to get a copy
of what you see-including what you see in this website.
For the Littlefields their
art and lives are intertwined and are constantly influencing
each other from the designs they see in nature to the
trips they take to building materials and technological
items.
